Dragonforce have launched a full album stream of their upcoming album. The record is titled Ultra Beatdown and is due out August 26, 2008.

Seriously. It was fun when it first came out, and me and my ex would just go to Fry's and play the display setup, but she sucked then and I was better. Now she bought it and can kick my ass. Too bad I play the real guitar, so the joke is on her and all the others who think they're totally the next Kirk Hammett. Muahaha.

As much as I hate to admit it, and as much as all their songs sound pretty much the same, and as much as I can't look past the novelty aspect of this band... I really enjoy listening to them baked.

I meant slower solos. I tend to listen to a lot of classic rock and blues. I'm such a cliche stoner. All I want to do is eat Cheez Its and listen to Sabbath.

Haha very nice, I can respect that. My favorite things to listen to stoned are Explosions In The Sky, The Fall of Troy, The Number 12 Looks Like You, Dragonforce, Brand New (newer stuff especially), and Between The Buried and Me. Anything technical or somewhat creative really... Punk-ish stuff usually won't cut it. Sabbath is good though, as are the first four Metallica records. Seriously though, if you ever get the chance to smoke, sit back, and listen to EITS's All Of A Sudden I Miss Everyone or Earth Is Not A Cold, Dead Place in their entireties...do it.

Definitely. I was stoned off my tits and I couldn't figure out what was more awesome; the metal-heads trying to headbang to Dragonforce, or Dragonforce jumping off amps and stuff keeping and NOT fucking up any of the solos. It was monumental.

I like these guys in much the same way I enjoyed "Snakes on a Plane". It's corny and cheesy as hell. However, it's done well for what it is and it seems self aware enough to know what it is.
Fun but not life changing.

The album also leaked weeks ago.

Its blistering fast, its edited so much I can't tell if its real. The guitars sound like keyboard simulation. There are definitely aspects I enjoy and respect. I think their drummer doesn't receive enough acclaim. But its soo cheesy and I can only take so much at one time. Even as a guitarist who plays lots of crazy solos.

They use shit-hot effects pedals for the guitars and I believe they use triggers for the drums. They keep it really tight live though, despite the jumping around, posing and shredding.
