Bayside detail "Shudder"

Long Island's Bayside recently released the track listing to their upcoming album Shudder, set for release on September 30th via Victory Records. Produced by David Schiffman (Weezer, Jimmy Eat World, Johnny Cash), it is the follow-up to 2007's The Walking Wounded. The album art can be found here.

The band will support with the Involuntary Movement Tour, featuring the Matches, Valencia and the Stats. We posted the dates earlier.

Everyone knows someone who has had something bad or tragic happen to them, and most people (everyone*) go through something bad or tragic themselves. If no one could make fun of such things, there would be much less humor in the world (and that would be really crappy).

The fact that this joke was person specific doesn't really change this. It was just a joke. I would type this exact same thing if I knew this guy or if I was this guy. In my opinion, making the joke is more valuable than being "respectful." That being said, I'm not saying you shouldn't have made your comment. I am just disagreeing with your way of thinking.

It is no doubt in bad taste and insensitive. It is the insensitive and bad taste jokes I am defending though.

On a side note, I wouldn't joke about the death of my friend either. My only point is that asking someone else not to is unreasonable. I'm not saying that person shouldn't be able to ask...I'm just saying that the request should go ignored. Thanks for the serious reply. I was expected to be flamed.

Maybe if the person were actually making a joke. Something can be in bad taste, but still be clever.

I was not making a joke about someone's loss, and in retrospect, I'm sorry it came across that way. I was more commenting on how short it would be before the jackals moved in and said it.

Looking back it was in bad taste, and I do apologize for any hurt feelings. I would have responded sooner had I not been in Atlanta all day. I hope you see this.

Besides being a good business move (getting people to sign up), it also helps cut back an the amount of spam that would be present otherwise. If you didn't have to worry about your account getting deleted and having to make a new one, myspace would have no recourse against these guys.

Also, it's the same as email. I can't email anyone if I don't have email myself.

I get those points, but it's so damn frustrating, they are RIGHT THERE. Like standing in a room with somebody you want to talk to, but there is a soundproof one-way mirror between you. If it was my long lost brother or something yeah I'd join up but I don't want to have to tell you my favorite television shows just to shoot the shit with some kid from high school or whatever. And yeah, like watching Titanic, I've got this long without, I'm basically refraining on general principle at this point.

1.) You don't HAVE to join
2.) If you want to talk to people on it, join.
3.) You don't NEED to post personal information if you are not comfortable w/ that.
4.) You CAN make your page restricted to those you are friends w/ if you are concerned w/ privacy.

I don't see what the problem is. Quit being an elitist. If you want to talk to old friends, suck it up and join. If not, don't.

This isn't so much an elitist thing. It seems like a heluva lot of work. I'll probably have to do a 'click this link to verify blahblahblah' thing in emaaaaail. Come up with a password with nuuuumbers...uncheck some 'receive updates' boooxes. booo. Could I have done it and been done with it in the time it took me to make all these whining posts? Sure. That's not the point. I'll tear the house apart for hours looking for a remote, hell I'll go buy one, before I get up to change the channel once. And then I'll have some never used shitty myspace page out there foreveeer. Too untidy. The whole affair.
