The Clash: "Live at Shea" teaser

Sony has launched a teaser for the upcoming CD of The Clash's legendary Shea Stadium performance due out this October. Recorded at Shea on October 13, 1982, the set will include the band's entire performance as they opened for The Who on their "farewell" tour. The record is titled Live at Shea Stadium and is due out October 06, 2008

The tour came shortly after the release of the band's massive 1982 full length, Combat Rock.

The teaser features some live clips from the show as well as some comments and back story from co-vocalist and songwriter, Mick Jones.

that future is unwritten movie kinda sucked. alot of it made strummer seem like a poser and a bit of a cunt. and that bit about him sleeping with toppers missus made me angry.

Unfortunately he was human just like everyone else. I think Strummer's awesome, but I don't idolize the guy.

I'm reading Redemption Song, and it does paint a different, interesting side to the guy. I never figured he was the pure and just figure of revolution, but it humanizes him in ways that I think are far more likeable.

I've read that also. It's strange that he could be such a humanitarian but also a bit of a bully. Although the bullying aspect probably came with the drive to make a difference.

I really liked the film for that exact reason. It shows that he was human, had faults and was kinda a dick. It certainly took the luster away without tarnishing his work. I thought it was an excellent documentary.

co-sign. it's pretty much the only clash song they play on mainstream radio up here. classic rock radio, "alternative" radio, even the soccer mom pop-rock radio station plays it. but that's the only clash song anyone ever plays.

Sony seems to be milking the Clash video catalog for all it's worth now. Why did it take so long to release the entire performance from Shea Stadium? I hope this is better than the "Revolution Rock" DVD, which was just previously used video with god-awful narration over it.
