Mogwai’s Martin Bulloch hospitalized, tour canceled

Martin Bulloch, drummer for Glasgow, Scotland's Mogwai has been hospitalized after the group's performance at All Tomorrow's Parties this past weekend. He recently had surgery to replace a pacemaker, and is suffering from complications. He had this to say:

I was taken into hospital last night almost immediately after the show at ATP. I've been having some problems with my pacemaker for the duration of the tour and it unfortunately culminated in me being sent to the emergency room. The doctors there initially thought i would have to have corrective surgery at a larger hospital nearer NYC but i have been given the all clear to travel home on the understanding that i go straight to my cardiologist on arrival back in Scotland.

That first link is where I first heard of them. Looking at it now I find it ironic that someone with a user name "HeresLookinAtYou" mentioned that they liked the Nakatomi Plaza tracks.

heard about this yesterday. Why? Oh, cause they canceled the fucking Chicago date. I was sooo psyched to see Fuck Buttons and Mogwai. This is terrible, I know. But still, was going to be a good show....

ah! very good point! Yeah, no doubt seeing both Fuck Buttons and Mogwai together would have been a great show (both bands playing extended sets). But if i can catch Mogwai next year on a legit show and a legit show from Fuck Buttons (i saw them at Pitchfork, would prefer something better)...well that would be great. Thanks for the heads up. Man, i should meet you one day seeing as how you live in Chicago, go to a lot of (good) shows, and listen to a lot of (good) music.
