Tours: Lagwagon (Japan)

Long-running punks Lagwagon will be headed to Japan for four shows in three cities in what appears to be one venue (though it's probably just the same name.) The band most recently released I Think My Older Brother Used to Listen to Lagwagon.

I've seen them on several tours, but the Let's Talk About Feelings show I saw was fucking amazing. I wish I'd seen them during the Trashed era, but at least they still play several songs off it.

Last year was one of the best shows I've I've seen from them. They played like 5-6 songs from each record. I was stoked!

Saw them on that tour with Bouncing Souls, and I think the other band was Assorted Jellybeans. They were amazing. Joey Cape and Greg from BS were both shitfaced drunk and kept wandering into the other band's set, so you would get random guest vocals.

I've seen them many times and they never fail to deliver. I don't even really listen to their music much, but if they come to town I always, always make sure to see them.

Japanese Punk Rockers are stoked!

I saw Lagwagon and Only Crime a couple weeks ago at this dive bar in San Francisco.
It was so fucking awesome. They played probably the best set I've ever seen from them.

So they're in Toronto when I'm in Japan and in Japan when I come back to Toronto. It's okay, I saw The Playing Favorites while I was there. The best thing about these shows in Japan is that bands are much more accessible over there. They'll just come out to the area where the fans are and hang out/chat/take pictures with them after the set. I was able to speak to three out of four of the bands I saw while in Japan (The Queers, Nerf Herder, and The Playing Favorites). Didn't get to "chill" with Propagandhi, but maybe it's just because I didn't stick around after their set.

Wonder who`s going to open, usually the local bands that get the opening gigs here are pretty weak.
