Slayer enters the studio, plans 2009 release

Thrash-metal kingpins Slayer recently entered the studio to begin work on their forthcoming album. The band is working on a new album due out next summer. One track, "Psychopathy Red" applies Slayer's sound to the story of f Andrei Chikatilo, a notorious Russian serial killer. You can check out some video of the song being recorded here.

The band will be headed to Europe tomorrow to begin the Unholy Alliance, Chapter III tour which kicks off this Monday, October 27 in Manchester, England, and wraps in Helsinki, Finland on November 27. The band plans to return to the studio early next year to finish recording the new album.

The band released Christ Illusion in 2006.

This comment pops up every single time a article is posted about Slayer.

Slayer is not racist, one of the members is south american for god sakes. They got tied into this 'bigot' bullshit because someone made a big deal about Jeff Hanneman intreste in WW2 and Nazism.

I dont listen to anything after Seasons In The Abyss because it is crap. I guess if you are still selling out stadiums at 35 bucks a pop then its ok to write crappy albums. And they take the crappiest bands on tour with them WTF is that?

True story: I was in Rome lately. I was listening to Reign in Blood on my ipod, at one point I arrived in Vatican on the St. Peter Place, and the music intantly stopped! I was like WTF?!?! God made my battery run down!!
