Cockney Rejects, the Casualties, Manic Hispanic at Punk Rock Bowling 11

BYO Records has announced the headliners for each night of the 11th Annual Punk Rock Bowling Tournament in Las Vegas. On Friday, January 16th the kick off show will feature the Casualties. Saturday will feature UK veterans the Cockney Rejects. The awards ceremony on Sunday will be headlined by Manic Hispanic. Non-bowlers can pick up tickets for each show or 3-day passes at the event's website starting on Saturday, November 8, 2008.

The shows are part of the annual bowling tournament which draws together participants from bands, labels, zines, clothing companies and more each year. This year the tournament takes place at Sam's Town casino from the 15th to the 18th.

it's not their jeans so much as their haircuts that gets me. how fucking long must it take to do your hair like that every day? and it's not like they're getting younger... if you're a teenager with liberty spikes or a big mohawk then fair enough, but 30's? it's just a bit cringe worthy.

This has always looked fun to me, and it inspired one of my favorite Souls songs. But my question is...is it a tournament only for bands and other organizations who are invited, or can any group of friends enter as a team and compete in a bowling tournament against their favorite friends? Just turned 21 this year, so I'm definately curious, cause I may just check it out.

save your money...don't go.... the elitist punks will only talk to other ones they know, or do business with, so if your neither of those, you better bring plenty of friends or chicks... to be honest, your probably better doing your own thing

can I ask what made it so that you think prb sucks so much now?
Ive gone for years and never had a problem with the people. Although I think there is some truth with what you have to say, it does seem that as the years go by, less and less of the fun people go. There are the types who care about looking cool but I dont think youll ever be at a loss of finding genuinely fun,nice punks every year. If you need a reference just look to the san diego/tiltwheel folks. those guys are the best.

In reality, it's supposed to be a chance for people who do business together to cut lose and have fun. Would you expect someone you don't know who's there with 100 friends to walk over and say hi?

again? can we please get some variety of bands. it's definitely not what it used to be but i still have a good time. just hang out with my friends and ignote all the dumb assholes. i mean its still Vegas. Team Asian Man shall rise!
