The recently retooled Ataris have posted a studio video featuring a bit of a new track. The band has been demoing at The Gallows Recording Studio and they are planning to begin recording in December at Flying Blanket Recording in Mesa, AZ which is owned and operated by Bob Hoag from the band, Pollen. The band is aiming for a Summer 2009 release.

The band also recently promised that the new album would see return to their Blue Skies, Broken Hearts - Next 12 Exits.../End is Forever-era sound. Last year, they released Welcome the Night.

you would think they would try harder to hide the fact that they're writing songs like this on purpose so they can get their fans back. what they don't realize is that their ship sailed about 7 years ago.

I actually sent Kris a message because I thought that maybe it was just a ploy to get old fans back but he said fuck that, he was touring with just a guitar and so the songs came out more three piece than with cellos and stuff, he said the other guys are busy so it;s hard to get the welcome the night people together, I personally like all the stuff and am stoked for this
