i second that...i have been living out here for two years and have gone to 5 or so shows in pgh. it seems everything worth going to is in ohio someplace.

I think the Arrivals are a really good band, but they did not sound good live when I saw them. I'm convinced it was because one of their guitarists was out of tune... because part of it just sounded completely off. Most people agreed with me. It's unfortunate, I was looking forward to a good show by them when I saw them. Probably the only time they'll ever come to St. Louis.

I do live in Chicago. SUPER SUPER big Red Wings fan. My birthday is Dec. 31st. I think I might make it to one of these things because of money. And that one thing will definitely not be the hockey game. I would blow so many dudes for good tickets to that game.

Honestly, I've never gave a shit about any area of sports, but the Red Wings were a huge part of my life growing up. I don't know anything about them these days, I just remember being extremely proud that Detroit was Hockeytown in '98 and hating Colorado.

It wasn't a story, dude. I was expressing frustration that every time we book a show, we find out a week later that Rancid or Bayside or whoever the fuck else decided to come to town on that day. This show is just another example.

And it is totally more likely to happen in Chicago. Just geographically speaking. There are plenty of tours that will hit NY but not LA, or LA but not NY.... but both of those tours will hit Chicago. And if you were talking about smaller markets.... do I really have to tell you more bands come to Chicago than Lawrence, Kansas?

"Get Better and You Might be Playing Them" is not really accurate here. Seriously though, what's your band called? And where are you playing?

I am in Chicago, in North Center. I"m sure this show will sell out and not effect your draw too much. As far as the "be on the show" thing, you're better off forging your own path and getting your own audience. The bands that are opening these shows never play by themselves, they're always second banana to someone else and will always be the bands that play every weekend and no one will ever make a special trip to see them.

On a side note, I'm listening to your band now and will probably go to the Beat Kitchen show on Sunday.

Jeez, I hope those guys don't get around to reading that. I see your point though. But playing to new faces is a good thing. That's usually how bands eventually get their own audience. But no one plans on dead-ending as a great supporting act. Those bands didn't, whether they've ended up there or not. We certainly don't either.
