Decemberists to release "Hazards of Love"

The Decemberists recently sat down for an interview with Rolling Stone to discuss their forthcoming album, Hazards of Love. The famous literary band's is promising 16 or so segments into a continuous, hour-long narrative suite that riffs on folk-song archetypes.

The story covers a woman named Margaret who is ravaged by a shape-shifting animal; her lover, William, who is desperate for the two of them to be reunited; a forest queen; and a villainous rake. Check out the interview here.

The band delivered The Crane Wife in 2006.

when I had a free subscription to Rolling Stone, they were all over this bands pants nuggets. it seems they still are. Rolling Stone tries too hard. they're a magazine for those people who want to think for themselves, but need someone to tell them what to think.

This band fucking sucks. I'm sick of concept bullshit story albums. Boring.

All my friends like this band. It is fucking annoying.

I heard one of their early early albums though, and it was alright. More energy and not as fucking boring.

Still though, how much fuck this band.

if any of your classmates are hot chicks, you should act stoked. you should also take a cue from that guy in the twix commercial and ask them back to your place. instead of blogging, you can say you want to listen to these guys. then you can do them.

Needless to say, I am pretty stoked for this.

And the new Trail of dead on February 17th.

And there's no date for Cursive yet, but I keep hearing January. Whenever it comes out, I'm sure it will be phenomenal as well.

Whatever the case may be, early 2009 is going to be incredible.

i've got that book, gotta get around to reading it.

they're not all that bad. got way more attention than i think they expected/askedfor/deserved.

the first album (i think thats the one i'm thinking of) is really good. i listened to it quite a lot a few years ago, mostly while i was reading the lemony snicket series (holy fuck that shit was awesome). it was sort of like a soundtrack for the book.

anyway, i dont listen to it anymore, not sure why.
