Aaron Cometbus interviewed on WFMU

Aaron Cometbus of Crimpshrine and Cometbus 'Zine fame was recently interviewed on Put the Needle on the Record, a show on WFMU this past Friday.

Cometbus discussed his long-running magazine as well as his new project with Schwarzenbach of Jawbreaker/Jets To Brazil. As reported earlier, the band also includes Daniela Sea on bass. Sea performed in Berkeley punk rock acts the Gr'ups and Cypher In The Snow and most recently appeared on Showtime series The L Word.

Probably not. We are pointing out something that is not the norm, and sadly even with as many women as there are in rock'n'roll, this is still primarily a boys game whether we like it that way or not.

I just wish there were more women in punk rock. I feel like I'm at a stag party sometimes. It would be nice to have a different cultural perspective brought in.

That, and punk chicks are generally super cute, and I am all for being in a room full of cute girls.

I would love more girls to hang out with at shows. Most times I'm at a gig, I can count the number of females in the room on one hand. And thats including myself in the number. It's sad :(

i enjoyed that. first time i've ever heard cometbus in an interview. it was kind of weird... he wasn't how i expected, but at the same time i don't know what i expected! wish i'd have known it was on so i could have listened live and asked him via the message boards what the deal was with the lazy art on the latest pin gun 7"
