Media: Rumplestiltskin Grinder: "Nothing Defeats The Skull" "Brainwasher c. 1655"

Philadelphia, PA's Rumplestiltskin Grinder have posted two new songs to their MySpace page. Both songs are from the forthcoming album Living For Death, Destroying The Rest slated for a January 20th release date through Relapse Records.

The band also has a short sessions streaming on WoozyFly. You can listen to their new songs here.

your comment led me to click on their myspace page. purely for investigative purposes, of course.

that name is something to live up to. i'm afraid they're heavy on the "philadelphia double bass pedal speed metal", and need some more "charles bronson" for my tastes.

altho, now that i write that, there's some screaming happening in the brainwasher song that's pretty bruta--wait. guitar solo. i take back what i was just about to post.

Charles Bronson were fun. They couldn't have picked a better band name. Also, love them or hate them The Locust chose damn well. They sound like music Monsters would make.

What's with you posting on the .org? I thought your desk was facing your boss now?

it still is. i took some time off to go listen to veganboyjr's heartbeat yesterday, and i'm here early making up some hours.

Excellent, there is a heartbeat. Congrats man, I guess my dream of you having a half kid/ half bicycle hybrid are out the door? I was hoping your kid would come out with spokes. Sort of like 'Turbo Teen' only a bike instead of a car. Remember that fucking show? Man, they totally fucked with our heads with 80's cartoons.

i'm afraid you and i might be the only two living people who watched turbo teen. i loved that shit.

a bike hybrid baby would be pretty awesome. we were actually trying to come up with some bike themed boy names yesterday on the way to the appt. girl names are easy. boy names--not so much. the closest we came do a name that wasn't "chainring" or "derailleur" was "schraeder", and that's not even that bike specific. we could just be charles schultz fans.

we are taking suggestions, tho, for boy names. rules are as follows:

1. must be easy to pronounce based on spelling/seeing it written/heard aloud.
2. pop culture* (tv even) is great to pull from, but not anything recent.
3. tree names are great*, and if we could find one that works, we'd go with it. i share my name with a tree, and so does her daughter. if we have a girl,

speaking of kids shows that need to be resurrected into a feature length live action movie, i think this one gets my vote for next micheal bay film. i say we start a petition. the rights to turbo teen can't be that expensive.

after that, it's inch high private eye. that dude was smooth. totally cooler than inspector gadget.

no, it doesn't involve a time travelling pizza. as much as it saddens me to say that.

it's pretty damn good, tho. it's been in development* for a couple of years. i've been trying to figure out the best way to get it out into the world, and i'm coming to believe that either agraphic novel or a series of comics is the way to go.

problem is, i can't draw for shit. altho, that might make it interesting.

i'm thinking some sort of limited edition, screenprinted onto funky paper thing or something.

i liked the pacman one. except, it had that made up villian who didn't really ever exist in the game. i did have a crush on sue the ghost, tho.

only sort of remember qbert. but if you think about it, that game was pretty damn abstract, so the cartoon telling of the "storyline" is bound to not make sense.

i was totally into the mr t thing. had the cereal and everything. i even remember ordering some marker by numbers poster set of him and his gymnastic team.

Sue the ghost was working it pretty good. So was Ariel from Thundarr the Barbarian, that fucking show rocked my ass off.

Not many of those cartoons made a lot of sense. Remember the coming soon ads before the cartoon season started? There was always some oddball shit brewing that you new wouldn't make it for long.

The Lone Ranger/Tarzan adventure hour? Who thought that was a good pairing?

companies we're trying to stay away from. also, a lot of those are just names that got branded into bike companies in the first place, so it's a little weird and recursive...

merckx is out of the running. we have some friends who named their kid that. which is about the best bike name a kid could ask for...
