Ben Weasel plans LA show with Danny Vapid

Ben Weasel of Screeching Weasel and Riverdales has announced a one-off Los Angeles show in March. The dates will feature Ben's Weasel/Riverdales bandmate Danny Vapid (also of The Methadones and the duo are promising both Weasel's solo material as well as Screeching Weasel songs. The show will feature Toys That Kill and The Girls as openers.

Tickets go on sale today at 10:00am PST here.

i'm from LA, born and raised. though i don't live there right now.

los angeles is one of the most amazing and unique cities in the world. fuck hollywood. i'm talking about Los angeles. Super progressive, a ton of great art and culture. great bands. don't confuse hollywood with los angeles. that's like thinking everybody from the south is a card carrying klan member.

i heavily agree-- LA gets misrepresented in the media due to hollywood but that crap is one very small aspect of the city as a whole. its a unique and amazing place

Word up to that!

L.A. and pretty much all of L.A. County is a great place to live. There's a ridiculous amount of diversity almost everywhere you go, great bands play in different venues every night of the week, each neighborhood has cool bars to hang out at, there's a very supportive art scene, people in general seem to be very tolerant, Downtown is finally becoming a fun place to explore, and finding something cheap to do on the weekend is always easy. Drawbacks to living here like being dependent on cars, Hollywood/Beverly Hills douchebags and traffic are a small price to pay.

I've been to other major cities and a lot of them are great, but I'd much rather live here.

I'd love to go this show. I liked the iron string quartet stuff he put out. I wish he would tour more but apparently he hates it.

bought my ticket. oh glorious day. now just don't die on me like when i had tickets to see joe strummer, dee dee ramone, johnny ramone and johnny cash. seriously, I am an old guy's curse. if i've been waiting to see you since I was 13, and then I buy tickets to see you play, you'll probably die before the show ever happens. thats just the way it works.

he was suppose to play the 30 year anniversary show i went to in hollywood years ago. Red Hot Chili Peppers opened with all ramone songs. Marky Ramone on Drums. CJ on bass. guest guitar players and vocalists for every song. Rob Zombie hosted it. He called Johnny on the phone and put the phone up to the microphone. Johnny died like 3 days later.

Im in a public library and I have nobody to share this excitement with so I figured I'd post again. Seriously, my punk rock dreams are all coming true. I met Ian McKaye a few months ago. I'm seeing Los Crudos on saturday, my band is playing with Total Fury at the end of this month and now I get to see Ben Weasel play some Screeching Weasel songs...
Now cross your fingers for zombie Joe Strummer.
