Truth Is joins the State of Mind Recordings family

State of Mind Recordings have signed Southern California-based melodic punk act Truth Is. Based on their myspace page, the band is influenced by bands like NOFX, Bouncing Souls, Lifetime, Quicksand, Avail and Face to Face. They will be recording eight songs for an EP beginning later this month for a release early 2009.

nobody in southern california likes Lifetime. at least they didn't in the 90s. they were like a whiny boring version of face to face.

i'll support your army. how's that? i'll wear one of those little yellow ribbons. there are few bands that i would join an army against, but most of them have to do with mall punk or bands called big d and the kids table.

there are certainly many more bands deserving of a hate-army, i just think lifetime needs one because:

1) the reunion and new album are balls
2) pete wentz making money is balls
3) it's hard to find other people who share this view, which is balls

i'd probably have no qualm with lifetime were it not for the reunion/new album and subsequent lackluster tour.

i'll agree with the descendents thing. i do know what i've been missing.

BUT

by the time Social Distortion had the sound that Face to Face kind of sounded like, Face to Face was already a band. they weren't ripping off 70s/80s social d, they were ripping off early 90s social d, but they were around in the early 90s.

I'm referring more to swagger and stage presence.

I got on board with Face to Face through Dr Strange in the early 90s. They fucked him over and continued to crank out the same song 12 times over every record.

Wow,aren't they original...although technically quite sound,this band is just another run of the mill mediocre early/mid 90's rehash.4/10.
