While the newsworthiness of this one is easily disputed (it's from 1985), it's still worth a look. A punk rock fan has discovered a 1985 news piece entitled "Pretty in Punk.' The breathless news report looks at the fledgling punk scene in Boise, Idaho and is relatively even-handed, if unintentionally ironic.

I love they used Riot to show how much punks loved rebelling against the man, when the song is pretty against the whole idea of rioting. "Tomorrow we're homeless, tonight it's a blast.."

Having been born and raised in Idaho and being part of the(folk) punk scene of my town totally makes me respect this... fuck yeah

Even better that this is the clip in that punks not dead movie, where the anchor, in all seriousness, says "we have a warning for you, watch out for punk rock, it could be hazardous to your children's health, lets go to chicago"

I went to a punk show in Boise once a few years ago and I gotta say the punk scene there is quite awesome. | Features
