Bouncing Souls detail 2009 release plans

The Bouncing Souls have revealed more details on their 2009 recording project. The monthly digital recordings will now be compiled into a series of 7" releases via Chunksaah Records.

It was almost 16 years ago that The Bouncing Souls put out their first album on their very own Chunksaah Records, and in a true return to the DIY spirit in which they began, The Bouncing Souls are self-releasing a new song every month of 2009 on Chunksaah! Songs will be released as digital downloads first, and for the all the folks who like to collect stuff, every 3 months a 7" will be released compiling 4 new tracks each onto loveably palpable vinyl. The first song will be released January 1st and it's called "Gasoline".

Furthermore an "international tour schedule" is planned for the new year.

The band released The Gold Record in 2006 on Epitaph Records.

It's fin and innovative sure, but there's nothing like putting a new album on and shredding through the songs one after the other.

After the colossal punknews freak out over the digital only thing, I see we've collectively calmed down now that they're vinyling it up. But wouldn’t it be a 7" every 4 months if they’re putting 4 songs on it? Or will each 7" have an exclusive song? Dammit, I need details!

I believe I read before that the 7-inches will have exclusive stuff as well.

PLUS at the end of '09, all songs (maybe just the monthly 12) will be released TOGETHER!

I love the souls. I'm looking forward to this.
I just saw them for the first time at Riot Fest this year, and i was blown away by how much fun they are live.

They are definitely one of the best live shows of any current touring band. For some reason, they're recorded material never quite matched up with that.

agreed. the souls are usually good but one of the best live shows? can't ever say that in the 10 years of seeing them that i thought of them as a great live band.

Yeah, I hate those motherfuckers. Or the asshats that buy them and don't have a player.

I've purchased vinyl for about 11 years now, and have NEVER bought even one to flip it for profit. It just seems so fucking wrong to me.

I'd kill a baby, I'd push and old person, but I'd never capitalize off my musical heroes.

my all time favorite band, i'm looking forward to this so much. at first i was kinda ehh to the idea of them not releasing a proper full length, but at this point i don't care anymore. new souls is new souls.

Stoked for this. I heard them play "Gasoline" not too long ago and it's a great song. I was hoping the 7" would be a monthly thing with the digital song and a B-Side, but I guess that'd be asking too much.

Since I missed Navel Gazing....A friend and I went up to the D4 record release show at the Triple Rock friday night. Fucking great show. I've never heard them so tight and I've seen them a lot going back to 1994. It was a good thing I had a DD for sure. Great time.

I actually live 2 hours straight south in Iowa so I don't see many shows anymore with a wife/kids/etc..But yeah, I've eaten at a few of those places, good stuff. The Triple Rock actually has really good bar food too.

I still wish it was just going to be all released together, since I am a full album listener I was thinking about not getting any of the songs and waiting to listen to it as a whole at the end of the year, but I don't think I have the patience or self-control to do that.
