Hunter Burgan of AFI named "Vegan Ambassador" for Macbeth Shoes

Hunter Burgan of AFI and Hunter's Revenge has been named "Vegan Ambassador" for Macbeth Footwear. As Vegan Ambassador, Burgan will be the official spokesperson of all things vegan at Macbeth. This includes hosting a new vegan blog to helping with design, and everything in between.In addition to Burgan's ambassadorial duties, he and Macbeth are releasing their second vegan Studio Project, a vegan high top called, "The Hunter."

The shoes are made of synthetic material including Ballistic Nylon and Synthetic Nubuck textiles. You can find more information here.

Well, at least it's better than a new AFI record. Also, vegans do hunt. They hunt for dignity and a safe haven from internet ridicule. Just kidding, more meat for me.

I'm on the fence. I've loved AFI even through Sing The Sorrow, but the last album made me sick. I guess every band has a bad album or two, but come on... Only good song was Kill Caustic.

I wasn't too big of a fan of Decemberunderground when it came out, but I listened to it with "this is not an AFI record" in mind, and I began to like it. I would love a return to atleast sing the sorrow type stuff.

It just wasn't as dark as I wanted it to be I guess... That's the main draw to AFI for me. Too many keyboards too. I saw them live when it came out though, and they can still rip it up.

It took me a bit to get into Decemberunderground as well, but after multiple listenings it grew on me. Something along the lines of Art of Drowning or Black Sails would be optimal, but highly unlikely. I'll even take something like Sing the Sorrow, just as long as they release it soon.

hunter's kind of a douche and afi were good-ish ten years ago HOWEVER i honestly think that it's cool and refreshing to hear people stand up for something as "unhip" as a popular band just cuz you like them.

I gotta find a job and move out of my girlfriend's room before I can start looking for shows again. I'm not sure why I'm telling you all this, seeing as how I haven't helped you at all. all this talk of ambassadors reminds me of something. I knew someone who worked at a camp for children with special needs. whenever a kid lose control of his/her bowels he would have to clean it up. He told me his official title was "Ambassador of Human Dignity". and I was like, theres no way to glorify this, you clean up shit my friend. true story

i wrote a letter to macbeth a couple of years ago about the contradictory and idiotic nature of them punting a 'vegan line' of shoes whilst selling others that use suede, leather etc. it's horrible, un-ethical and greedy - they are merely attempting to capture every possible market in a very cynical capitalistic fashion. fuck that. how can you endorse veganism whilst also selling shoes made from slaughtered animals. the hypocracy stinks, and as such hunter should not have got involved with this. i'm going to email the fucker and see if i get a reply, i doubt it though, they ignored me last time.

Wow, I just watched that "Shoe Odyssey" video someone mentioned. Very intricate. Very Hunter.
