"In the past week the musical quintet from Poughkeepsie, NY: The Getaway has posted a new song on their MP3.com site. And also has released a new e-card. The two new songs that are released are "Ex Marks The Spot" and "Promise". Which are to be released on their up coming EP "...If All Else Fails". That is slated to be released on May 24th. just to tell ya, this is about the getaway from pughkeepsie n.y., not the ska band from new jersey. The getaway is f'en awesome... everyone in the area should go to their record release party, Taking Back Sunday's playing, i don't know who else, but more kick ass bands probably. If you live around Poughkeepsie you should deff. check them out. I've seen em' play with Autopilot off at one show, RX Bandits, Allister, Benjamins at another, and Something Corporate at another. They kick ass!

this must be one of the worst bands ive ever heard in my entire life! first of all, can you come up with a name so un-original and NOT ALREADY TAKEN? there are about 10 Getaways that are pop punk bands just within the new england area, not to mention 4 of them are from new york. get some talent, drop a guitarist, stop trying to get on drivethru and get a life! all i can say is this: FENIX TX hahahaha

Yeah, you're a retard. The reason why they chose it was, because of how it relates to them and their music. It's like they want to getaway from all the problems that they come across. Hence the name "The Getaway". And they aren't looking to get signed by DTR. Even though that would be fucking awesome, they aren't trying to get signed by them? They have tons of talent. I'd like to see you try to be in a band and do EVERYTHING by your self. They do everything with their own money. They have no help besides selling merchandise. So, go fuck off and play with your self.

Being a Poughkeepsie resident, these guys are only the tip of the punk rock iceberg in our scene. Check out Next II Nothing (www.nextiinothing.com) or The Schematics (www.the-schematics.com). Getaway is ok but there's better out there...
