Classics of Love, the new band from Jesse Michaels of Operation Ivy and Common Rider have announced some upcoming tour dates which include shows in the US and in the UK. The band will be releasing a new EP this year.

I love the song "Classics of Love" by Common Rider, but I think the version of it on the new Squirtgun live album is even better. Of course, the rhythm section of both those bands are the same, with Mass Giorgini on bass and Dan Lumley on drums. I hope that this new band is as good as his previous bands.

Eh, they're good. It's hard for me to judge because long before I heard them I'd heard the 40,000 awful local bands that they inspired, so it didn't sound fresh or interesting when I got to it.

He came here like 4 years ago and played a 20 minute set with Common Rider. That sadly is the only time I have seen his greatness in Texas

I had a chance to see him at the Knitting Factory back in August, but when I got there, because I'm retarded and didn't buy tickets in advance, missed him. I've regretted it every single fucking day since then.

Luckily that night still kicked ass.

I was there! That was the Plea for Peace or the Take Action tour. The tickets were fucking expensive and Common Rider was the only band I wanted to see, but it was worth it.

30 minutes I remember almost perfectly.

It was only like a month or so later that I was at an AAA show in Austin, wearing a Common RIder shirt I bought at the show, that someone walked up to me randomly and said, "Common Rider broke up," and he walked off because I could recover from the seizure I had.

AAA was awesome but that shit almost ruined my night.

I drove half way up to the show they had right north of Dallas, and fucking had to turn around and come back because of something else in real life. It fucking sucked. I really, really wanted to go to the show in Austin on Thursday but I couldn't make that one either.

I'm going to hate myself for the rest of my life.

The only way I can redeem it is to see them twice the next time they pass through Texas. I have no choice.

I did understand completely. But that doesn't change the fact that I'm a stickler for proper sentence structure. That being said, there's no reason for the word "new" in something that's the first of its kind. It's just goes without saying.

It goes without saying, IF you already knew that it was the first of it's kind. They could be releasing something old or a modified version of another EP. Also, the sentence had proper sentence structure both with or without the word "new."

It's too easy to pick apart sentences by asking "why did they say it this way and not this other way?" You can do that to most things written on the internet.

Proper sentence structure would been to say:
"I did understand completely, but..."

Anyone actually like the song on the myspace? I'm a huge Jesse Michaels fan and I'll admit I give him a pass because of his credentials...but I must admit if this song was sung by anyone else I wouldn't give it a second listen.

I wont jump to any conclusions just yet as it is only one song but not blow away by it at all.
