Rise signs Of Mice and Men

Rise Records has signed Columbus, Ohio's Of Mice and Men. The band is a new project from Austin Carlile, former frontman of Attack Attack, and Jaxin Hall, graphic designer from Auckland New Zealand.

according to their myspace, the band is only a week old, and they already have a contract based on one song.

i guess attack attack are pretty big?

I know bands need names but...perhaps if there weren't copyright laws, every band could be called something like the Stooges, the Lungs, the Ruts, the Ballhandlers. These are the only kind of decent names anyway. This shit is just getting too abstract and how could you EVER expect someone to take your punk band seriously (not that a punk band should be taken seriously) when it is named after a (great) book about a retard who dreams of having a rabbit farm.

I don't and never will listen to this awful shit. However, I find it odd that a band from Columbus, Ohio, which is where I am from, can get signed to a decently recognizable indie label without me ever hearing of them.

Well, he used to be in Attack Attack, also from Columbus, and also on Rise. They don't even have a band yet, just a singer and bass player. Another band recorded this demo for them. Really makes you think...about pretending to believe in God to make money.
