Shai Hulud to replace Verse on New Found Glory tour

New Found Glory has tapped Shai Hulud to replace the recently broken up Verse. NFG guitarist (and former Shai Hulud vocalist) Chad Gilbert commented:

As most of you already know, the band Verse, who was meant to open our tour has broken up. We were excited to tour with them but that's life. We feel it is only fair to replace them with a band from a similar genre. That way kids who listen to Verse won't be too disappointed... plus we feel it makes for a better show to have a more diverse lineup.

The band that will replace Verse will be none other than SHAI HULUD!! For those of you that could be wondering, I might make an appearance on the mic but I cant promise or commit to anything. Shai Hulud's singer rules anyway.

The tour kicks off in March.

I actually enjoyed that tour. I got to watch BR and left before Blink came on. Then made it back to my local bar in time to tell my friends how awesome Blink were.

Also, when did Shai Hulud sign to Epitaph?

i love shai hulud but slowly accepting they will never top Hearts Once Nourished and the fall of man, whole new level of sickness splits. Geert was the best vocalist they ever had, possibly one of the best ever in the hardcore genre. guy is way energetic and into it.

wrong-o, shit was gold. Just because it wasn't cookie cutter hardcore with mediocre production quality doesn't mean it was bad.

i wouldn't say it sucked. just a little too dense and not as memorable as earlier stuff... face it, Hearts is still so great because it was pretty fucking original for its time. Since the mid 90s there have been a lot of bands to either copy that style or incorporate it into their sound. I think Hulud is still putting out good music and Fox certainly can still write some great melodic lines but nothing has grabbed me like the stuff i mentioned in the above post. and i don't know that it ever will.

So fucking stoked, I love this band so goddamn much. Still sucks that Verse had to break up for this to happen, but this dulls the pain a little bit.

Seeing Shai Hulud will be much more jarring for the typical NFG fan than seeing Verse. Shai Hulud is much harder.

I think you're all missing the point here, that NFG really, really SUCKS. Maybe not as bad as Good Charlotte (who I personally believe to be the worst "punk" band ever), but still very bad.

i thought shai hulud broke up like a hundred years ago and then kept putting out albums somehow anyway? how'd that all work out?
