Dave Hause of The Loved Ones has posted two songs from his forthcoming solo album.

The Loves Ones released Build & Burn in 2008 and Distractions this year.

I'm also kind of getting sick of this folk thing... I got my fix for the last couple years, but now I want some new roaring, searing HWM songs, another Sink Or Swim-esque album from The Gaslight Anthem, and a more Keep Your Heart-esque album from The Loved Ones.

Live, yes.

For folk songs, no.

For covers and taking from old songs, no.

For fast, fun songs, yes.

For slow, brooding songs (re: Massive), yes.

For loud songs, no.

Lyrically, yes.

For originality, yes.

For side projects and old bands, no.

For not jumping on talk shows, yes.

i'd say no for everyone of those. i just find them really boring, aside from a few songs.

Not really. I don't enjoy it as much as Sink Or Swim, but that is one of my favorite albums. Senor and the Queen i thought was also excellent. I really enjoy a lot of songs of the '59 sound and find it to be more exciting than anything TLO have ever done. Aside for a few songs off of Keep Your Heart and a few off their newer albums, i find them very, very boring and bland.

Agreed.

Aside from a couple of songs, The Loved Ones are kind of "meh".

But I do prefer '59 Sound over Sink Or Swim and Senor. Production issues aside, it just holds my interest more.

I'm sure he wrote a lot, if not all, of the material for the Curse, but I like the Curse's versions of 'benson and hedges' and 'rankers and rotters' much better.
