Frontier(s) (ex-Elliott) joins No Sleep

No Sleep Records has signed Frontier(s). The band is the new project from Chris Higdon formerly of Revelation Records' Elliott.

The band is promising a new seven inch in 2009. You can check out some rough demos on their myspace page.

yeah dude, if you don't have them, grab all 4 of the drinking comps

the bands are all great and the samples in between songs make everything flow so well. Burn all 4 down to an mp3 cd, you have 5.5 hours of drinking music without changing a disc or a record. That was always my problem. I have these comps on vinyl, but flipping them over and over becomes a task I'm not prepared to tackle once I've been saucing for a while.

Elliott's "False Cathedrals" and Guilt's "Further" are both in my top ten recordings of all time. Louisville is indisputably one of – if not THE – greatest hotbeds of musical talent in the world: Shipping News, Black Cross, Will Oldham, Rodan, By the Grace of God, Falling Forward, Young Widows, etc etc etc. But most importantly it was the birthplace of one of music history's greatest masterpieces – Slint's legendary and incomparable "Spiderland."

It would be fitting, but I'm glad that it wasn't.

It's funny, lots of my neighbors listen to stuff like 'Death Cab' and their ilk...
They come over to my house and hear stuff like Elliott and Texas is the Reason and think I've got some new bands that nobody has heard of. Truth is, they are just very slow.

Elliott was one of my favorite bands of all time. I got to see them a lot growing up in Louisville. I remember seeing them play their last Louisville show with Your Black Star and Mono in an old church. So epic. I miss them. I'm glad Chris is doing something else, i love his voice.
