I'm defender of Ghostbusters 2. While yes it can't touch the original (biased because it's my favorite movie of all time) it has more than its fair share quotable lines and classic scenes that never fail to bring a smile to my face.

Pronunciation and reaction is still the same. The instant you see the title, whether spelling is taken verbatim from the movies or not, what do you think of? Do you get the image of horses running free in a field? No, you think of Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter trying to play Van Halen riffs. It's a cheap way for people around our age (early to late 20s) to associate their band with something golden from their childhood.

I was talking about Bill and Ted the other day and love it or hate it, that is one damn original movie. Imagine going into a board room and you're like, "here's the idea, these two kids grow up and save the world with rock and roll but in high school they're just fuck ups and at risk of failing and thus ruining the rock. So this guy goes back in time, in a time machine and let's the two kids use the time machine to study ancient history to ace their presentation. Only, they go back in time and round up historical figures instead and end up acing the test and saving the future...OH, and the time machine is A FUCKING PHONE BOOTH!"

"Naw, we're gonna remake the Halloween series".

FACT: The time machine was a van in the original drafts of the script, and then Back to the Future came out and they changed it to a phone booth.

If you're near Victoria Station I'd recommend a pub called the Constitution, on Bell Street. There's a lot of USS Constitution stuff there, which didn't make a whole lot of historical sense to me, but it was a nice place to have a few pints and we ended up talking to some regulars for the better part of the night.

i don't really either. for the most part. there is a superficial part to me that thinks that everybody in a band should look like they are in the same band. at least live, it looks weird when there's like the metal dude, the rockabilly chick, and the mall-punk kid.
