Media: The Ataris: "All Souls Day (Demo)"

The Ataris have posted a new demo song for streaming online. Titled, "All Souls Day," the band cautions that it is "a new really rough demo" and that it will be released in a final format on the 2009 Vans Warped Tour Compilation.

You can find the song on their myspace page.

They released Welcome the Night in 2007.

it's not horrible. best thing they have done since "Anywhere but Here" though i'm sure they'll mess it up on the record.

I really like "end is forever" and even a few songs on "so long astoria"....hell I even enjoy some songs on "welcome the night"...

1. End Is Forever - was their peak with pop punk/emo songwritting. Jon Snodgrass playing on there as well
2. Blue Skies, Broken Hearts... Next 12 Exits - first album I got of theres
3. So Long, Astoria - senior year soundtrack
4. Anywhere But Here - too poppy
5. Welcome to the Night - only heard once, never enjoyed their sound crossover

2. Blue Skies...classic
3. So Long, Astoria - I love the title track and the Goonies reference in that song
4. Anywhere But Here - never did it for me
5. Welcome.... - too forced...has 1 or 2 good songs though

i like Blue Skies, EIF, and SLA for what they are (mostly for nostalgic reasons), but how could you possibly think this song sounds "fucking great"?

ugh.

this song is terrible. it sounds like a mesh of riffs that were used on old ataris stuff, but in a completely uninspired and uncreative way. this song wouldnt even be good in 1999.

i was looking foward to the release, but now i dont give a shit.

I'll always have a soft spot for the Ataris. Seems like much the org feels the same way. "San Dimas High School Football Rules" is how I got the first girl to ever go out with me. I'll probably buy this release. Demo sounds ok, more So Long Astoria than End Is Forever. I would prefer the latter. Decent enough though.
