Media: Sonic Youth: "Sacred Trickster"

Sonic Youth have released the first single from their upcoming album. The record is titled The Eternal and is due out June 9, 2009. It is the follow-up to Rather Ripped which was released in 2006.

My girlfriend thought I was crazy when I sang "Takin' Retards to the Zoo".
I had to dig out the CD and play it for her. Then I remembered how good the whole album is.

It sure is, it's their best. I love the others, but nothing beats the start to finish of Big Lizard.

The only time I hooted and applauded during Juno is when she screamed "AND SONIC YOUTH SUCKS!" Standing ovation worthy. I got dirty looks from the hipsters down the row.

last dozen or so sonic youth articles has got matt ramone's sweet "OMG THEY SUX FUKIN HIPSTER TRASH" signature all over it. at least he's dependable.

I loved Sonic Nurse.
I loved everything these guys have done in fact.
This song sounds like it could have gone on Daydream Nation. Its fast and awesome. I hope the rest of the album is this good. Stoked and anticipatory.
