American Steel title, track listing, artwork for new record

American Steel have detailed their forthcoming full length. The album is their second since reuniting in 2007 and follows their Fat Wreck Chords debut, Destroy Their Future.

The record is titled Dear Friends and Gentle Hearts and is due out July 21, 2009.

I thought the cover was supposed to be a collage of fan's tattoos? Needless to say, I'm glad that didn't happen. I like the cover...very cool. I'm looking forward to this album. AmSteel is one of the most underrated bands around.

I dig the art a lot. I got into Communique quite a bit a few months ago but now don't really listen so I'm hoping this album doesn't have synth or anything electro in it really. I know the one song that they put up a while ago had a very Communique feel to it, but... yeah.

I've searched and searched for that stuff for a long time and the only thing I was able to find was their first ep...do you mind posting the album and second ep on the beardpunks wiki page?

Yeah I couldn't find anything either so I bought their whole discography on iTunes. I've kind of abandoned that site, but I can see what I can do later tonight.

Lets hope for more Rogues March sound. Although by the looks of the cover that probably aint happening.

Excited to see what this record is all about. American Steel has always been unpredictable from each record to the next so I'm sure "Dear Friends and Gentle Hearts" will be different and great.

I highly doubt this will sound like a Communique record. Not that I don't like them but they are two totally separate bands. I can't wait for this to come out - it's my most anticipated record of 2009.

ps: I think the tattoo collage will be in the insert or on the back cover.

The first two records were awesome. Their self titled on New Disorder is still one of my favorite records. Since then... No so much. The last one was OK but kinda boring. Hope this one is more like old American Steel and less like Communique.

I got their last record after hearing the first two songs on the FAT site.
Turns out those were the only really good and memorable songs on the record imo.

But they're so good that I still don't regret my purchase.
Sons of Avarice is one of my favorite songs ever.
