Portugal. The Man have posted a new song from their forthcoming album. The record is titled The Satanic Satanist and is due out July 21, 2009. It is the follow-up to Censored Colors which was released in 2008.

I like indie rock and some indie pop, but think the genre has gone from being awesome bands like Pavement and Superchunk and more awful unlistenable crap like Antony and the Johnsons and the Arcade Fire.

Censored Colors, didn't like it when it first came out. Listened to it again this week several times. Definitely better this time around.

The record didn't make much sense to me at first, i was expecting Chuch Mouth Part 2, and they gave us something completely different. So give Colors a second chance, and approach with an open mind.

But shit, at least they're trying different sounds, rather than making the same record over and over

i respect these guys cos they're hard workers. i've seen em on tour like 30 times, always just supporting someone rad like minus the bear or something, and they get better each time. they kind of bored me up until this last time they came through philly, i was really impressed and the crowd loved it
