Bouncing Souls tour Canada with Youth Brigade, Off With Their Heads, Saint Alvia

The Bouncing Souls will tour Canada this September and October. The Jersey punk band, currently celebrating their 20th year, will be joined by punk legends Youth Brigade, Burlington, Ontario's Saint Alvia and Minneapolis' Off with Their Heads. The tour kicks off on September 23rd in Montreal and heads west from there, wrapping up in Vancouver on October 7th.

The Souls have been releasing a series of new recordings digitally on the first of each month this year, then collecting them into 7" releases and eventually a CD. We recently took a look at the 20th Anniversary Series: Volume One.

Great news for OWTH. I support that band fully. I remember i got in a scuff at the alamo house a few years back and just about got my ass beat by half the house and all i remember is the lead singer of this band sticking up for my worthless ass. Good people those owth's guys.

So the new Death By Stereo is actually pretty good. It's over-produced and some songs are a bit too mainstream rock souding, but they also have a lot of punk/hardcore songs that remind me of their older stuff. It's a lot less metalcore than their last record. The piano version of Forever and a Day is completely unnecessary. Overall I'm pleasantly surprised.

Black President? Saw that tour in Buffalo last month, that band sucks ass. The Loved Ones are wicked though.

But yeah, last time they were in Toronto it was with The Loved Ones, Strike Anywhere, and Static Radio. Awesome show.

I personally have seen Avail, the Gaslight Anthem, World/Inferno, the Hold Steady, Street Dogs, the Slackers, Smoke or Fire, and the Loved Ones (at least 5 times) open up for them. They totally make up for every time it was Let it Burn, Spanish Bombs, or the Unseen.

Call the office is great, but Guelph is halfway down the highway between the cities. Vinyl is a good, small venue, about the size (perhaps smaller) then Call the Office.

I'm tempted of making my way up to Toronto just to see OWTH play 30min.

I never really got into the Souls, although i've liked a couple of their recent online only tracks.
