Why is being sucessful at something un-punk? It always seems to be the non-musicians that are the first to cry "sellouts!" As a musician I love playing music with my friends. I do it regardless of money or popularity, but if other people like my music and willing to come to shows and buy merch, well that is just gravy. Instruments, studio time, and production don't pay for themselves.

i hit some weird point in my life recently where i just saw very clearly that money is the biggest joke out there... it's pretty funny if you think about it

Yeah, that's what amazes me. I'm glad people still decide to get out there and make great music, basically knowing that there isn't any money in it for them. My life would suck without bands like this.

It's got '90s emo instrumentation, but not quite as noodly, using repetition and progression in a really unique way. And the vocals are real gruff, like early Small Brown Bike. Then the band My Heart To Joy is kinda similar, and put out their own fantastic album this year as well.

I thought the Rumspringer album came out in 08...that's a great album. I've also picked up the stuff from O Pioneers, Anchor Arms, How Do We Jump This High, Anchor Down, Wormburner, Cursive, and North Lincoln and really liked all of it.
