I would normally agree with you, haven't really listened to NUFAN for about 10 years but they played our local bar 2 weeks ago, capacity of about 50 people with no sound system and they were amazing. Tony Sly got really drunk, couldn't play his guitar and just ran around signing and giving people the mic to sing songs for him. I dismissed them as too polished and professional but this changed my mind a bit.

Either that or starting a dinosaur themed Mexican restaurant.

Yeah, it can be dangerous for sure. That's what was weird, neither the doctor nor the pharmacist really gave me any kind of instruction on how to use it. I looked it up on the internet and read all the stories about how addictive it is and exactly how it fucks with your brain. It doesn't seem like something you want to do more than once or twice a week. Anyway, the reason I kept taking more is because nothing was happening. Then I woke up the next day. No thanks.

It's for anxiety. I'm normally the kind of person who just deals with shit like that without getting help from other people or from medicine, but it got bad enough to where I felt like I had to get something.

If you mean how bad was the medicine, then I guess I really just have to describe how I understand the medicine to work and how I reacted, since it wasn't good or bad.

Apparently, the natural tendency of your brain is to speed up, constantly accelerating your thought process. To counter this, the brain creates a chemical which acts as a brake to that speeding up, in order to keep your throught process at a steady and balanced pace. Anxiety can be caused if your brain is speeding up too much and not making enough of the chemical to slow it down. Xanax just gives you a dose of that same (similar) chemical to put the brakes on. If you take xanax for a couple of days though, your brain might temporarily stop making the chemical. Then you're brain is dependent on getting the chemical from the pills. As soon as the xanax wears off, you either have to take more xa

What happens instead when I take xanax is that you feel nothing, until it kicks in, and then you just wake up the next day. I have no memory at all of the intervening time. I could have been awake and just sitting there, or sleeping, or whatever. That's not what I want medicine to do. I want it to space me out, kind of like weed, but just my thought process and not my entire body/etc.

If you mean how bad was my anxiety, then I can say that I wouldn't go to the doctor for it unless I absolutely had to in order to continue functioning as a human. It got that bad, so I went. Usually when I hear someone say that they have anxiety, I kind of just assume they're exaggerating and what not, and you know, how bad can anxiety really be? I was wrong about that assumption. I got some Xanax when I was diagnosed with MS, because the doc said I looked stressed (no shit!). I took it for about a week and it did kinda mellow me out, but I could totally feel it fucking with my head. It didn't make me blackout, but I did fall asleep pretty early a few of the times I took it.

Overall I'm not a big fan. But if I had some and was looking for a head change, I'd do it again.

Yeah, that's what I'm looking for, is to just kind of be mellowed out. I think about things constantly, nonstop, all fucking day. I basically want to feel moderately spaced out, feel good, but still lucid enough to form a thought and 100% conscious. Any ideas?

I know weed is an obvious choice, but I'd prefer something I can ask my doctor for. Plus weed affects you so much physically, and I'm really only looking for something that affects me mentally, not so much physically, if that's an option.

When I was first getting in to a lot of skate punk, I loved all of their songs on the Fat comps ("Justified Black Eye" and "Feeding The Fire," especially). I went out and bought "More Betterness" when it was first released and, man, what a stinker! I also have "Making Friends" and, even as a "classic" No Use album, I just don't think it's that good.

I remember when I got into No Use, they were always described as skate punk on the metal side. Needless to say that I stopped caring after Daily Grind. I bought Leche Con Carne when it came out, but listened to it only a handful of times.

They came up recently in a Pandora session and I couldn't believe how bad they were. I remember being bored by them, but they have some BAD music.

I'd settle for a 7'' completely empty on both sides.

I agree. I saw them at their last show in SF at the end of the Fat Tour. Dave (and everyone) got shit-hammered and even though he was falling over he managed to play awesome solos. Great show.
