Bridge Nine Records has posted a full stream of their new summer sampler. The album features new songs from Strike Anywhere, Death Before Dishonor, Crime in Stereo, Polar Bear Club and more. (Click the first album cover.)
The label is planning a CD and vinyl release for the compilation as well, on recycled packaging to boot. They're planning on using recycled packaging for every release thence onwards. Bridge Nine Records (111 comments)

Strike Anywhere - Extremely safe; very formulaic. It's okay. Very disappointing considering I am a huge fan of everything they've done. 5+ Replies

Oh and where is my submit credit? Alternately, you could have just posted the text from my submission and the post would have been just as good. 2+ Replies

I'm amazed at the hate towards Michael Jackson around here, especially after his death. 14+ Replies

I was surprised by how ambivalent I felt about the Paint it Black Song.

My thoughts about the sampler: *I want to hear what Energy will do in a year or two. I mean as they stand right now, they're pretty damn ridiculous, but I think they can do something pretty cool later on. *Is that Have Heart song a joke? It seriously had me in stitches. *Dead Swans are awesome in a super douchey kind of way. I saw them a few times before they got serious, but to see that the singer still acts like a fucking asshole cock rock idiot but with the band actually being pretty good is kinda cool. *Some sounds in the Crime In Stereo thing seriously gave me goosebumps. I wasn't going to check their new stuff out but god damn, that song is pretty fucking awesome. If they're given enough time to make a full record of songs like this and make it solid it could be a 9+/10 record.. *Paint It Black doesn't dissapoint, that 7" is awesome. Another reason to hate the east coast: Face To Face / Pegboy / Polar Bear Club tour

Living Saints seems a little all over the place, like so much is going on but it's simple at the same time. It might be because I don't know the words or song at all so I just can't predict it. It's weird and hard to explain, but I love the song. 2+ Replies

Crime In Stereo says War was created and recorded in a day or two's time and won't be available anywhere but on the sampler.
