Seconded; There are some really awesome bands on here.

I like the Ruiner track. That more laid-back but still quite driven vibe fits them. I'm sure alot of people are going to dislike their new stuff, but man it must be hell to be in a "intense hardcore band on Bridge 9" for more than five years..

Even PBC I can see as disappointing to some. I think Bridge 9 might not do as well as I thought they would.

Yeah. Me and a few co-workers were hanging around listening to the PBC record and talked about the Bridge 9 signing. It doesn't really seem like it fits B9's way of working. To be completly frank, B9 are still very much about the collectors market and have been doing so well because they cater to a scene where it's not uncommon to buy the same record in 4 different colours.

The hardcore bands they've been doing well with all have that type of uber-fans who does that, but I don't really see PBC fitting with that mentality (it's not genre related, NFG's stuff did ridiculously well). Sure, they're a good band both live and on record, but I can't see alot of people buying 5 shirts, a cd and 4 colours of the vinyl.

Agreed, besides me, I don't know anyone else. I don't even own it on vinyl.

To be honest, I still think Equal Visions would have been the best fit... not only cause of the post-hardcore BV.S way, but kind of how Hot Cross was the obscure cult band who released a really good debut that's both melodic and aggressive.

Also having a few of the guys myself (I love that I can say that, haha), they just seem "too nice" for bridge 9. One thing that I love about the band is that they're fairly grounded in both appearance and performance; I just feel they definitely -- at least psychologically -- took a huge step back for connecting to fans. Also, I am dealing with Bridge 9 right now for show booking and they're one of the most businessy (not a word) labels I've talked to.

Keep in mind, I love Bridge 9 and I'd love to be signed by them, but they're extremely professional and less buddy-buddy and if that's their agenda, that's good it got them far. I just don't see this band as fitting tat.

To be fair, Equal Vision are the same way (probably 5 times or so more since they've got a bunch of big sellers and a bigger staff). Labels like B9 have it a bit harder since they're so close-knit with the hardcore scene, yet they know that their bands are capable of generating above average sums of money. Also, most serious labels don't communicate much with first-time bookers, you have to prove that you're not just a talker. I mean it's the hardcore scene, so many people are complete douchebags, no matter how good they are at presenting theselves.

I guess EV signed This Time Next Year instead, what a bomb that's going to be to be, way too late on it.

EV has a broader fanbase to me. Well, I am not booking it, someone else is and he is most def. not a first time booker. I respect them for being strict, I just think PBC is a little too modest for the B9's aesthetic.

Yeah they do, they kinda fit with what we used as points for fitting on Vagrant.
Yeah, I meant "first time dealing with the label", most labels really warm up to you if you do a good job once or twice.

I also really like it; I thin kit might be a much stronger song in an album context, too. Hardcore like Ruiner thrives off of making their albums flow.

There is definitely a Motorhead "One-chord-for-a-while" vibe to the Death before Dishonor song. but it's slower, and therefore less rocking.

if anyone he should be compared to it's Ike Turner who also had a huge impact on music, but due to events his reputation was (rightfully so) tarnished. what Michael Jackson brought to the world was huge. his impact definitely was a huge force and revolutionary in many aspects. he was a great talent. i believe he was a good person in intentions. he had some serious mental issues without a doubt, but anyone who has the mentality of a child in an adult world does, especially when compounded with the media pressures. i'm not here to make excuses for any wrongdoing, but his impact on music, performance, and breaking down racial barriers alone should be worthy enough to atleast get an in memoriam mention here.

My favorite Beatles song is "I'm Down". I preferred their early tracks with roots in classic rock and roll.

Growing up, my mom favored the early stuff, my dad the latter. My dad likes a lot of garbage and my mom had a massive record collection of 60's bubblegum pop. She was a lot more fun.
