Veteran musician Travis Morrison has retired from music. Morrison was the frontman of DC art-punks Dismemberment Plan and also released solo material under the name Travis Morrison Hellfighters. He posted his retirement announcement to his official website saying: Retired! No shows, no records, no band. Just relaxing in Brooklyn. Befriend me on facebook. I'm so nice.

Kinda bummer. I havn't gotten into any of his work post Dismemberment Plan, but that band was very influental on me when I really started getting into songwriting. Their arrangements were always awesome and totally illogical, but unless you dissected it, you wouldn't really know because everything had such a seemless flow to it.

Sad news. The Plan were brilliant, his later stuff was alright but lacked the Plan band.
