Russian Circles to release "Geneva"

Russian Circles have announced their third album, Geneva due out October 20, 2009. It is the follow-up to Station which was released in 2008.

Geneva was engineered by Greg Norman at Electrical Audio and produced by Brandon Curtis of The Secret Machines.

Instead of Geneva they should have called it "Soothing Ocean Sounds" or "The Cure for Insomnia."

Cranking them out. These guys are kinda bland to me, even though I typically enjoy this type of music.

The only time I've seen these guys was in the middle of a three day long post-finals bender where my buddy and I managed to get free tequila shots from the Double Door bartender (Chicago people know how hard that is) and ended the night dropping half a pizza all over myself. They were pretty awesome and since then listening to recordings just doesn't do as much for me.

Was that the free show with These Arms Are Snakes? If so, I was at that. All their free shows suck now but that place is kind of a bust so I don't mind not going there.

Yeah, it was that one; we got there about halfway through These Arms Are Snakes and just stood in the back bar area by the free cigarette table. And I agree about the free shows sucking now; the marketing company I used to work for was actually the one who put those shows on and the main booker for the most part had pretty solid taste.

I've still never actually paid to get into the Double Door; I've either been working the show, it was free to begin with or I knew someone who was able to get me in. It's awesome. I remember before I was 21 it seemed like they were booking a show a month that I wanted to see but now it's just crap on top of crap.

Smoking Popes was cool a few months ago, but other than that I sure don't miss those fucking pillars

its out. im pretty sure its vinyl only unless you catch them on tour, then they are selling a cd. i picked up it up, probably about three weeks ago. its pretty decent

Oddly enough this cover looks like it would make more sense to say Station and the last one Geneva.
