Deep Elm ends mini-hiatus, plans eight new releases

Deep Elm Records has resurfaced after a brief hiatus. The label is coming back with eight schedules releases, and plans to announce the specifics in the coming weeks. The label noted:

Think about the records you love so dearly...the songs that make you smile and the songs that make you cry. Now imagine they never existed. There needs to be a label that continues to believe...even when the music industry is in decline and facing its most difficult challenges. That label is Deep Elm...and we will continue to release the best independent recordings available today. Deep Elm remains strong, alive and committed to both its bands and fans worldwide. We are currently singing bands worldwide.

The label recently released a re-issue of the album Pneuma [reissue] by Moving Mountains.

Lagwagon "Hoss" is such an amazing record. Almost perfect from start to finish.

Cape played Violins at his solo show. I was stoked.

Not to be insulting by saying this, but i loved that record about 10 years ago. I really have not listened to it much over the past few years, but based on what I remember, it was my favourite disc by them.

I don't listen to them too much, but whenever I bust out their old records, I always still love them. I don't grow out of good music.

Lagwagon is one of my favorite punk bands ever. I love everything they ever put out, but Hoss is definitely at the top.

That is a classic album. I love double plaidium, the production shouldn't work but it does, the bass playing is so solid on that album.

My favorite was always "Trashed". I wasn't into the post "Hoss" releases as much as the first three albums. Still a great band, though.

I used to love Deep Elm, they were the first label I was ever "loyal" to, but they've pretty much gone to shit. They'll have to do alot to make me care as much as I used to.

naa, there is a pre-production demo. and the two songs from the old ep we re-recorded. the new stuff is pretty similar though. stoked for it to finally come out.

"Going on/off hiatus" is for bands who've run out of creative ideas/gotten too old/need to make news. Labels don't go on hiatus, they run out of money. Also, I'm really looking forward to them "singing bands worldwide." Go singing bands!
