So the first time i saw Watchmen i had not read the book, i went back and read it and re-watched the movie last night. I enjoyed it much more.

more becuase of the book, i still enjoyed the book better it was more graphic.

I'm glad I'm not the only person who thinks the book actually looks better than the movie. I just have friends who are wowed by computer graphics; for instance, they said that Osterman's "death" looked better in the movie. I was going to destroy them.

But the story doesn't make any goddamn sense without a lovecraftian horror-squid.

The first blu-ray I watched was actually The Watchmen (I had already see it in theaters), but I felt like it was a proper film to take my blu-ray virginity.

I think we need to put a collection together to get TahoeJeff and his Ukulele songs pressed onto a record. These things are fucking awesome. I'm currently of the mindset that his 'My Brain Hurts' and what sounds like clacking spoons bests the original.

I'd be willing to beg for that. I love the Vindictives and his style would be perfect for it. I'd actually like to hear 'I'm In Trouble Now' done like this.

Do you have Party Time For Assholes by the Vindictives? That's the best cover record in existence.

The Flim-Flams was Joey and Jenny's side project. A mixture of the more experimental stuff from Hypno-Punko and new wave-y punk. I really dug it but it got lost in The Great Record Sale of 2004 when I lost my entire collection.

I heard the 3 or 4 songs from Uke-Jeff's myspace awhile back and thought they were all pretty fun. Too bad he's not from around here. I'd love to record/jam on ukulele with him.

I'm not sure if they had more than the one EP I used to have, definitely worth checking it out and if I find it, I'll put it up in the beardcave.

Does Ukulele Jeff play shows and all? Because if he does, I would actually be down in shelling out a few bucks to help put out a 7" or something.

Ok, so I guess I will address the actual news here:

The search is the worst (non cover) song on here. I am alright with their more metal-ness (although it's not quite as good as their older stuff), but I like it better when it's not like "now here's a guitar solo". Oh well.

Well, unfortunately, they are going for "crossover" which is a sound I've never been able to really get into. I agree with you, even if thrash isn't my favorite metal genre.
