Dave Grohl forms new band with QOTSA, Led Zeppelin members

Dave Grohl of Nirvana and Foo Fighters fame has unveiled his new project. Dubbed Them Crooked Vultures, the band also features Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age and John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin.

The band has launched a twitter feed and are planning a live show at Chicago's Metro on Sunday, August 9th. According to their Facebook profile, the band's debut will be titled Never Deserved the Future which is due out October 23, 2009.

why is it that musicians start other bands with people who are in bands around the same caliber, if not, bigger than they are....

are they too good to just start a new band with a bunch of people no one knows?

i won the whole discography in a competition and it arrived t'other day. most of it is pretty unlistenable to me, although i wont rule out the possibility of it growing on me. "gone fishin'" and "love" were the "least worst" to me.

Tickets sold out in less than 5 minutes for the Metro show. Now they are showing up on Craigslist for about 400 a piece. I don't think people really understand the concept on "Non-transferable".

Yeah. I never liked them. Though, they have several elements I like, upright bass, gretsch guitars, surf and rockabilly parts. They sounded like rock stars or something.

They won an ARIA for Best Rock Album of 2008, they just finished a tour and they're headed to Europe towards the end of this month.

almost anything that Homme touches fucking slays. if grohl is playing drums, then it just means having a really good drummer in your band. JPJ, however, hasn't done anything relevant in 30+ years so I'm not sure where that's going at all.

looking forward to hearing/dissecting this.

I don't get all the people hating on Funny People because it "wasn't that funny", it's definitely more of a drama than a comedy

I guess it's because the cast is made up of people who are only really known for doing comedies, but it's a good movie

My point about this movie is that it's not a comedy, it's a drama about comedy. But people are going into it expecting a comedy and not a drama so they shit on it
