Paramore has announced a headlining tour in support of their upcoming full-length, brand new eyes, which is due out September 29, 2009. Opening for the band on the tour will be new labelmate The Swellers as well as Nashville, TN act Paper Route.

I threw up in my mouth a little bit when I heard about this the other day. I love the Swellers but am going to hate going to this show. I'm also going to hate packing today. I got clothes, my guitar, and my xbox360. What else do I need?

just make sure you never call San Francisco "Frisco"...
It's either "SF" or The "City"
and another thing.... Your Texas hospitality works with the ladies, but don't flaunt it with the homeless people.... What I mean is, YOU WILL have alot approach you for money, and come up and go "Hey, can I ask you a question?" (it's usually, "Do you have a dollar I can borrow?") so basically, Don't look them in the eye and don't say a word.... just keep walking
It happens at least once or twice a day... don't get sucked into it.

I hate when my sister and her husband come to visit, and they always get suckered into that shit.

having grown up in LA and lived in New York for the past 5 years I'm used to wakling by homeless people all of the time, but I have to say that SF takes the cake for crazy homeless people. they are not only everywhere, but they are fucking crazy ass people.

"my everest" is easily one of my favourite albums of the last few years, and quite frankly, i'm happy they're on their way up. this sort of high-profile support slot could easily lead to a gaslight-style success story, and these guys deserve it.

they will never have gaslight anthem type success - maybe rise against type success, but they won't get the support of mainstream rock critics like TGA and they certainly won't get the support of indie giants like Pitchfork and NPR.

i still like the swellers. i don't care what it says about me, but it causes me a great deal of cognitive dissonance that they are playing with paramore.

it goes a little something like this in my brain:
Paramore = BAD
All things associated with Paramore = BAD
Swellers = GOOD
Swellers touring with Paramore = system error

The routing of this tour leaves open the possibility of the Swellers being at The Fest again this year. I am fine with this.

I saw them open for Jimmy last year. I have to say, I was impressed. They even covered a little bit of Refused and Mars Volta during the bridge in a couple songs.

There is also something just mildly haunting enough in her voice to get my attention. Whatevs, I dig it.

I like this girl's voice a lot. I don't like the lyrics though. Plus her bandmates look like goddamn fashion retards.

Sort of like the aliens from Earth Girls are Easy...which would exlain a few things.

The infatuation for H2O and shit ass AtDI is pretty stupid too.

Did anyone see All Time Low get spanked on Conan? I just watched last night's episode and it was hilarious! The drummer totally ate shit on a fill and, at the end, Conan didn't even get up to say hi. Terrible performance from a terrible band.

i've been playing drums for 10+ years, and i'm an ok punk drummer, but if i were on conan i would fucking suck so bad because the whole i would just think, "max weinberg is judging me right now."
