Rancid has announced plans to play a benefit on Saturday, November the 7th in Las Vegas for the Tony Hawk Foundation. The Stand Up For Skateparks event, sponsored by Hawk's new Tony Hawk: RIDE video game, takes place at the Wynn Las Vegas resort and is limited to 1000 guests
Hawk's foundation aims to build free public skateparks in low-income communities.
Along with Rancid's performance the event will feature a very demo from Hawk and appearances from a number of skate and BMX pros, including Bucky Lasek, Andy Macdonald, Simon Tabron, Dennis McCoy, Lynz Adams Hawkins, Kevin Staab, and Jamie Bestwick. An auction and a "family-friendly action-sports carnival" will also be on site to raise funds. A pledge drive at the event has the goal of funding a skatepark in a Vegas neighbourhood. This shit they call 'family-friendly action-sports carnival' is fucking dumb. That's that Warped tour shit. Just stick to the bands.

I find it hard to care about this band anymore. I used to really like them too.

I never really liked skateparks. Most of the guys I knew at skateparks were dicks and I sucked at skating, so maybe I'm a little biased.

Did anyone go to the smokeout festival and see Pennywise? I am wondering how Zoli was as a stand in singer. 1+ Reply

I found Mad Parade's "As soon as it begins...then it must end" cd in my collection. Never really listened to it before. Fucking sick stuff as most 80's LA punk is.
NO RANCID! THEY SUCK!
