Hometown Throwdown 12 announced

The Mighty Mighty Bosstones have announced Hometown Throwdown #12, their annual series of Holiday shows in Boston, MA. The band is promising shows on December 26, 27, & 28 at the House of Blues in Boston, MA. Tickets are $25 and went on sale this weekend at the Orpheum Theater Box Office (One Hamilton Place, Boston) and through Ticketmaster.

While a full lineup has not yet been announced, Darkbuster has revealed their involvement and Bosstones note:

This year's Throwdown is shaping up to be something special as we'll be joined by past Throwdown heroes and hometown zeros alike.

The Bosstones will release Pin Points and Gin Joints and is due out November 30, 2009.

Stoked for everyone who gets to go; there's going to be a lot of awesome videos from these shows.

Still, for a number of factors, mostly geographic and financial, I doubt i'm ever going to see these guys live, and that saddens me.

I haven't seen them since 95 or so but even the 3 times I saw them they were always amazing.

I started got into them around 2000ish, and by the time I was old enough to start going to shows (or at least when my parents would let me) in late 2002, they went on hiatus. Bad timing i supposed.

actually just to clarify, they didn't go on "hiatus" until 03, but their last show anywhere near me was warped tour 2002.

I was 17 in 1997, when they "exploded," and got to see them about 10X before they went on hiatus. Lucky timing, I guess. You'll enjoy the hell out of them

Southern Ontario.

My main problem has to do with their current touring patters: it's always very brief and in very specific areas (ie California or Boston/New York areas).

I'm hoping that if they play some shows this summer i can maybe work something out if they play anywhere closeish and hotels/bus tickets aren't a complete drain on my bank account.

MMB is my favorite band, and I live in CA, so I've been fortunate. But, I'd assume that they will tour on this new album, so hopefully you'll get to see them. Southern Ontario isn't too far from Boston/NY....make it happen, they're so great live.

I think we're in the same boat, dude. Fans who were just too young to see them when they were touring regularly, That said I've seen them twice now, and it's well worth the wait. Seeing them take the stage at Bamboozle was well worth admission, and being up close to them at a real show was just... mindblowing. I wish you the best, and hope you get to see them, I'm sure you'll get to.

Saw the 'Rhodestown Throwdown' last really, really pumped to see them at a hometown show for the first time.

Mid East nights sold out too quickly which caused a ton of scalping in 07. I think they just wanted a bigger venue so more fans could buy tickets without having to go to scalpers.

Only downside is they eliminated the "ticket buyer must be present rule", so I'm sure the scalpers are out in full force.

They are but I doubt they're selling well. You can still buy tickets from ticketmaster for $25 and there's the distinct possibility of more nights being added. I think scalpers may be eating some tickets.
