30 Seconds to Mars debuts song in "Dragon Age: Origins"

30 Seconds To Mars is premiering their new single in Dragon Age: Origins, a dark fantasy-based tactical RPG released by Bioware, the makers of Mass Effect and Jade Empire. Despite taking place in some indeterminate past of swords and dragons, the song apparently debuts in-full in the game.

Frontman Jared Leto explained:

We always like to push the envelope in the entertainment and media space and debuting our title track in a game of this caliber is a great way to communicate our music to fans around the world. We've come a long way from having to rely solely on radio to approach and engage music fans, and Dragon Age: Origins is the perfect game to do this with.

The band's new album, This Is War, is due out December 8, 2009

But seriously, this is just shameless self-promotion. It's so obvious that they don't give a damn about the video game. They just want to sell out to it and make even more heaps of money than they already have. Fuck this band.

there is no pushing of envelopes by putting music in a video game.

besides, I just fucking hate it when people say there are cutting edge (push the envelope). If you have to say you are, then you are not.

I know that the posting of news not typically considered "punk"-related is justified simply as being what the editors like (i.e. Weezer, Lilly Allen, etc.), but anyone who likes 30 Seconds to Mars is objectively and scientifically wrong and should be fired immediately.

I've heard some really good things about Dragon Age, and some really bad things about it. Apparently, it's supposed to be the 'spiritual successor' to Baldurs Gate, which is awesome. I've also heard that it's like Mass Effect with a more tactical combat system and swords, which is also cool.

I've also heard the AI is terrible to the point where the game is unplayable.
