A stream has been launched for the new EP from A Wilhelm Scream. The self-titled EP was released digitally this week and is the first new material from the band since Career Suicide in 2007. That album was voted the best album of 2007 by Punknews.org readers.

I suppose that's true, but here's how I see it: There's not a chance in hell I'm ever going to buy anything from a pop-up ad. I've been online for probably 15 years and I have never once clicked a banner ad or a pop-up ad.

And really, pop-ups are just intrusive. Even if I wanted to buy something advertised in one, I'd probably skip the purchase in protest.

I'd say it's 60/40 in favor of Career Suicide over Ruiner. Ruiner was a great album but I prefer Mute Print and Career Suicide over it. Fun Time will give you a Ruiner feel for sure.

Sounds like a really good EP and I am glad to see that, Bulletproof Tiger is looking like the song of choice however all of them sound great. These guys never cease to amaze me, every time they put something out that is solid and fun to listen to.

I worked an Evergreen Terrace show tonight and they had this really shitty crabcore band called Asking Alexandria open for them. God were they shitty. The lead singer was some cheeky British twat that was like, "What the fuck is up with the vocals?" In my head I was thinking, "It's because your dumbass dwarf scream is surpassing the compressor." God that band sucked.

Evergreen Terrace stole our teas and instant coffees as well as a large brown bowl :(.

Dead to Me was pretty awesome last night @ Thee Parkside....

I'll go ahead and elaborate before someone else puts up some shitty review of the show, minus song titles and setlists

Openers, Started It, weren't bad musicians, but they're music and name were a little too immature for my taste, and made me not like them.
Dead To Me didn't come on until midnight, and opened with Arrythmic Palpitations, and Nuthin Running Through My Brain (which Nathan almost seems to take a "Milo" approach). They went through Cause Of My Anger, Cruel World, Modern Muse, Bad Friends, Three Chord Strut, and closed with A Day Without War and By The Throat.... No little brother or X...boo
Still, a good, energetic set,but I could have done without the all-ages part, since Thee Parkside is usually 21+, there were really people of all ages from 15 to 80, seriously.

I wouldn't say WS is any more technical than the last few Propagandhi albums. If you think a few finger tapping riffs make something particularly technical, you need to learn to play some yourself.

Where did you see that? I have not heard anything about the vinyl having more tracks - technically the vinyl is the "main release" with the CD being a bonus in the package, so I can't see the vinyl having more tracks than the official tracklisting.

Another site is reporting the Australian CD from Shock Records will have a bonus track, but who knows about that either. The same kinda hogwash was going around about the Australian Career Suicide, and that turned out to literally be the exact same US Nitro discs, cases, and inserts - just sold in Australia. There was the "Australian Tour Edition" of Ruiner that had one bonus track, but that was clearly labeled as such and it was a re-release of the original bonus-less Ruiner disc. Anyway, I sent an email to Shock asking them about it and we'll see what they reply.

As someone who is privy to how these decisions work

1) It was Saturday during college football season

2) Compared to other non-college-football sports (basketball, baseball), the audience is smaller

3) It's a near-meaningless, early-season game won by a slumping team.

4) Depending on what time the game is over and what time you're watching the show, the highlights may not have been edited or available yet.

5) Yeah, I get it, they're the defending champs. The year after my Lightning won the Cup they got no coverage BECAUSE THERE WAS A FUCKING LOCKOUT. And then after that they sucked, but that was their own fault.

6) I can also tell you that if ESPN shows more East Coast sports stuff, it's because it gets better ratings. It's not because they're biased. If you actually met some sports broadcasters and writers you'

hasnt been really 'officially' announced, but yes the VINYL 12" will have 3 extra tracks on the B-side and you won't see the titles on the track listing, but they're there...kinda a surprise you'll see...

....vinyl will also come with CD and if you dont want the vinyl then you will have the option to just buy the EP on CD/digipack. BUT CD version will not have 3 b-side tracks...these tracks will be exclusive to vinyl release.

I really don't get it. Paper + Plastick is all about "making a quality physical package the fans will appreciate" blah blah blah, and Trevor of AWS said they're including a CD version because they know fans will want to listen to it in the car and all over the place. So these two well-meaning groups get together and make a package where 3 tracks are only on the vinyl, and a 4th bonus track is only available in Australia? Way to go dudes, way to encourage me to pay for music and not just download it...

Maybe they think they're being playful and cute, and people will enjoy finding these bonuses. Maybe I just hate fun. But I think most will see this as an inconvenience. There is plenty of room on a CD, and you can hide unlisted bonus tracks on a CD just as easily as the B-side of a 12". AWS is my favorite band and I want to take their music ever

Sorta reminds me of Pennywise releasing Reason To Believe in 2008. I downloaded it legally for free at myspace, then illegally got hold of an SMS only bonus track (which was not available in Europe anyway), found a CD rip including yet another song and, after quite a long and pretty annoying search, was finally lucky enough to discover a site that allowed me to download the last bonus track, which had originally appeared on vinyl only. After all, I was able to burn a CD including all accessible bonuses. Considering the trouble I had while just trying to make sure I could listen to music of one of my favourite bands, the credibility I once had was greatly damaged. Same goes for Rise Against. I won't say AWS are sell-outs, they're very far from it. They'd just realise that such methods are nothing but displeasures for their fans, which could be easily avoided if all fans on all

I mean, as much as I hate it, at least I understand it when major labels do it - they make all these crazy deals with Best Buy or whatever for exclusive tracks, and they try to discourage countries where CDs are expensive from importing from countries where CDs are cheap (aka why Japanese editions always have exclusive bonus tracks).

But I do not understand it at all for minor / small labels. You're supposed to be on the artists' and the listeners' sides. I figure the artists want their fans to hear all the songs they put out, not just a regional or format-based subdivision of them (and I know the fans want to hear all the songs). Why make things so difficult? Isn't it cheaper for the labels themselves to press just one version anyway? Why press a special Australian version? I can't imagine Shock Records is really maki
