Bigger Than The Sound names best songs of 2009

MTV's resident contrarian (and most prominent blogger) James Montgomery has posted his list of the best songs of 2009. Along with a healthy selection of pop songs, the list includes Mastodon, Franz Ferdinand, The Flaming Lips, Brand New, Thom Yorke of Radiohead, Lily Allen, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Matt and Kim, Animal Collective and Paramore. Regarding Paramore, he says this:

You can practically hear the heads exploding in the room. It's the best vocal moment of 2009, signifying not only Hayley Williams' transformation from a kid with Kool-Aid-colored hair to a full-grown woman, but her arrival in the pantheon of truly great rock vocalists.

Someone who deliberately disagrees or supports the opposite opinion of those around him. It seems that he isn't a very good one though, as he still sucks the dick of the pop world with his list.

I'd like to point something out

"Then again, maybe that's just me — the best songs make you think, after all." - talking about Grizzly Bear's two weeks (an actual pearl in this ocean of shit)

My point is: How does the two Miley Cyrus songs make you think? This list belongs in the toilet.

It's like an awful store bought birthday cake, with its bright colors and shitty icing, with a few legit sprinkles, like The Flaming Lips, Grizzly Bear, and Thom York.

I never have been a big fan of MTV, but this is a new low.

Fuck you MTV.

So I never heard the Jay-Z track "D.O.A." but is anyone else amused that his most successful rapper (Kanye West) used it to make an entire album? And didn't West produce some of Jay-Z's last album?
I'm sure this is old news for hip hop fans.

Jay-Z has also appeared on Lil Wayne songs (another user of auto-tune)

Shit that list is pathetic. Not only is it poor but the critiques are fucking useless. His section on Franz Ferdinand proves he hasn't got the faintest idea.
