Bad Religion to enter the studio in April

In a recent Q&A session with Bad Religion fan community The Bad Religion Page bassist Jay Bentley revealed some of the band's recording plans. The band looks to enter the studio in late April of 2010 to record the follow up to 2007's New Maps of Hell. Jay commented:

April 26th, 2010 is the date i have, so sometime around there. Just a few songs are written right now, it feels like the songwriting is picking up momentum. Baker said he was going to drive up to graffins, brooks and i are going to do some demos with brett, so we have a pretty good jump.

Earlier this week Brett Gurewitz confirmed to a fan via Twitter that the record would arrive in the fall of 2010.

I can't wait to here what new monumental genre defining album these guys come up with next.

There's no possibility of their next release sounding anything like their other 20 previous releases. I'm sure it will heralded as the next great piece of music of this century. They'll probably hang the album cover in the Louvre.

It looks weird when six guys are crammed on the stage playing. I mean, I know Gurewitz one of the founding members and wrote the better songs, but why even bother these days?

Off-topic, I know, but I'm home and bored today:

Does anybody know why Fat has a pre-order up for a record that's been out for nearly 14 years? I'd e-mail Fatty myself, but I'm assuming he's on a coke binge until after the new year.

it's a "re-issue"

But really, they just print about 200 colored, and once those are sold out, they start to pull out the old ones from storage that were never sold, and mark those up for the hype.

So, it's not really a re-issue... they are just trying to make a quick buck by putting a new color on an old record

I'm excited. I've really enjoyed everything they've put out since they went back to Epitaph. I think the argument that the band is too long in the tooth was more valid in the later Atlantic years than it is now.

A lot of New Maps Of Hell can hold its own with even the greatest Bad Religion CDs. Empire was okay, had its moments, but New Maps and Process are fantastic records.

I'm actually a big fan of most of New America. I think, to this day, I have never heard No Substance. At least I can't recall ever listening to it.

...and this is one of those bands I've heard everything else from. Weird.

Hear It is an awesome song, other than that...the lyrics on No Substance are so bad I actually feel embarrassed for the band when I listen to that record
