P.O.S. has announced a headlining tour in early 2010. The tour will feature Dessa on all dates and Grieves and Astonautalis on separate three week legs.
I've seen him twice. Once on Warped, which was kinda....eh. He did his entire set in the middle of the crowd, which was cool, but outdoor festivals and hip hop don't usually mix well. At least not to me.
Then I saw him when he came to Detroit last month with Saosin. HOLY SHIT. Killed it. If you've got the chance go, go. Seriously.
P.O.S. rules, but I would like this news better if:
1) it included UK shows
2) the support act was DESA rather than Dessa
3) or Link 80 - hey, a man can dream
Really tired of this being the only hip hop artist mentioned on this site... I don't care if he did the fucking Warped Tour (it seems no one was really talking about him until that came about)
Just for this, I'm going to start looking for other hip hop news to submit, so this will look like The Source news
on another related topic, this guy is comin to the FU Church down the street. reakwon was there recently, but this POS dude is a corny blend with hints of clown shoes. i will try to hit him with a rock like he was a prime minister.
Find other hip-hop artists who cite punk as a major influence/played in punk bands their entire youth/are anywhere near as cool as this guy etc and I'm all game.
This site tends to follow former punk musicians into their endeavors beyond said genre, so this is really no different.
There are plenty of hip-hop artists who have punk influences and are awesome and this site reports more hip-hop/rap news than just P.O.S. news. I can recall stories about GZA, Sage Francis, and a review of an Edan album just to name a few. Plus Wu Tang only had one good album as a group, despite the many solo projects that are good, and they are a little underwhelming live.
