A couple of songs from the upcoming Joe McMahon (Smoke Or Fire) / Brendan Kelly (The Lawrence Arms, The Falcon) split have been posted. The album, titled Wasted Potential, is slated for a March 16, 2010 release; Anchorless Records will handle the vinyl release and Red Scare will be releasing it on CD.
McMahon's song, "Beauty Fades", can be heard at the Anchorless MySpace page. Kelly's track, a porch-friendly take on the Lawrence Arms' staple "Quincentuple Your Money," can be heard at Red Scare's MySpace page. Red Scare (62 comments)

I was uber disappointed when I found out the Joe McMahon songs were just the ones he already released at shows a while ago, so I already have them. Won't be picking this up.

yay! quincentuple is one of my favorite lawrence arms songs! as for this version, it's good, this is probably as good as an acoustic rendition could be.

Anchorless Records is a great label run by one of the most legit dudes I've ever met. Big things coming from them. So excited for the vinyl. Some great shit coming with it. Preordered mine already. Anyone at that acoustic show knows this will be one of the best splits to come out in a while.stoked on red scare releases like The Menzingers as well. It's going to be a great year.

Yep... Beex's rendition sounds like Falcon playing Larry Limbs... and I'm lovin the shit outta it!

I'm kinda stoked on this. I'd be buying the vinyl if I weren't completely broke.

i love brendans voice, i do, but when it comes to these acoustic songs i think he'd been better off singing in that lower style [like he uses in devil's taken names]. | Features
