Chris Shiflett & The Dead Peasants have posted a stream of their new album. The band is a new project from Chris Shiflett of Jackson United, Foo Fighters, Me First and The Gimme Gimmes, No Use for a Name and others.
The self-titled record is due out July 13, 2010 via Le Coq Napoleon/RCA and sees Chris tackling "Americana-laced rock songs." Chris attributes the sound to influences like classic country artists (Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings), rockabilly (Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochran), and deep-rooted rock bands (The Rolling Stones, The Replacements),

about 2 years ago i had had enough of aging punk rock guys throwing on a flannel, growing out a sruffy beard, strapping on an acoustic guitar and claiming Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings as their influences.
i especially have no desire to see this from a fucking millionaire.
sorry guy. i like your bands, even foo fighters. but i have no desire to hear this.
