Fucked Up have announced on their blog that the band has finished recording their new album, David Comes to Life. The announcement invited fans to download the album, but those who did found themselves with a copy of the latest Cut Copy album instead, a prank they pulled when they finished their last album, 2008's Polaris Award-winning The Chemistry of Common Life. The band has described the new album as a full-on rock opera.
