Here's your question and answer of the week from the Punknews Formspring:

Q: Hello. I was wondering how one might promote their band on or a new release of theirs on Punknews?

A: Well, our main goal isn't to promote bands but to post news. I'm not making that distinction just to be a dick, it's an important point. News is something that occurs and is relevant to the interests of a community. This means that sometimes even if something is happening, if it's not of great interest to our community it may not get posted (of course there's always exceptions, slow news day, what have you). This has been the case sometimes even for bands I enjoy or know (which can be awkward).

Honestly, the best way to get information posted on punknews about your band is submit your news and contact Joe (our reviews editor) about your album. We might be able to stream your album (contact Brittany or Adam, or a real editor about that, but make sure it's kind of exclusive. Not to be a dick but we're not going to us our own server space and bandwidth to repost something that's on facebook). There ARE a lot of avenues to peruse to get you're band and news on face book, but I can't promise any of them will result in getting news posted.
