Oh, I am alive. As a matter of fact, I just posted some news. The truth is, since I started college, I just havent had the time to dig for news like I used to. It really sucks, but at the rate that the other administrators post, I know that our readers are getting the important information that is sent to us. So at least I am confident that the job is getting done, even though I am not as involved as I used to be. I do visit the site a few times a day to see what people are writing about. What really should've happened was a runoff in florida b/c the margin of gore vs bush was so small (10,000 I think) it was statistically insignifigant. With the lectoral college now candidates have to get votes in other states other than big states like Texas, California, New York ect....So, it still serves a purpose. Say you were a candidate If you had a choice of going to New York or West Virginia you would go to New York because they have more people but with the Electoral College you need to go to W.va to get their votes and get their electoral votes too. ok... just really quickly... maybe i should have not used canada as an example... but sweden has been very succesful in it's health care... maybe we should take some hints from them... i guess we could have this debate for ever and ever and ever... but i have two finals today, so maybe i'll be able to respond again :) just something really quickly... my point about people was this : if people only realized how much the government fucks up their lives... i'm not talking about any type of control or anything... just people need to stop the government from doing stupid bullshit that fucks up their lives... enuf about that :)

Plus, America has never had a 'good' government (at least ethically). The history of rape and oppression of both it's own citizens as well as other nations doesn't exactly ring to me as a 'good' thing. Exactly, I know Mike and he is one of the the greatest guys in the world but I think some of his views are a little skewed. For example the Pilgrim shirt oon the website is a tad too much, I agree with the point but it crooses the line going from anti racism to racism.

Please explain what is wrong with Republicans (barring their racist past which is horrible and barring what Lott said) They are for small government while democrats want government everywhere. If you hate the government you should actually be a republican because they are for less government than democrats.

The problem I have with republicans has nothing to do with that, it has more to do with the issue of the lobbies backing them. In the case of republicans, we have weapons, polluting industries, and so on. Bush refused to sign the Kyoto treaty because of the heavy industrial money his party got, and he's pushing to awar against Irak because of weapon ones. Then there are other things, like pretending forests grow like 'cancer', which is a lie (he received money from the wood industry as well). Of course democrats are backed by lobbies as well, but the republicans' are the worst, that's it.

Fact of the matter is, both parties are for increasing government control, limiting individual rights in favor of "national security" and decreasing taxes, penalties, etc. for the larger business that just happen to contribute the little PAC's out there. To finish, I think lobbies should be illegal, as they are in most developped countries. a government should base its actions on what people want, not on what their big fat rich corporate companies want.
